Melinda Schmidt
Melinda has always had a passion for movement, dancing, and teaching. Melinda grew up in Clemson, SC, where she attended dance at a local studio and cheered for the spirit and competitive cheerleading teams at D.W. Daniel High School. As an adult, she found group fitness to be the best way to continue to exercise and fulfill her love to dance.
In December of 2017, Melinda attended Clemson Fitness Company for the first time and fell in love! Since then, she has tried every format Clemson Fitness Company has to offer and loves them all. In August of 2018, Melinda was certified in Balletone and a few months later, she was certified in Barre Above. She began teaching Balletone and Barre Above at CFC in August 2019 and fell even more in love with the gym, even though she didn’t think that was possible! Melinda is also certified in EXTREME HIIT Chaos and Pumped Up Strength.
Melinda is currently the reading coach at Clemson Elementary. She taught 1stand 2nd grades for 15 years. Teaching group fitness allows her to combine her love of teaching with her love of fitness. She loves seeing people meet fitness goals and being in community with people who love fitness and encourage one another.
Melinda and her husband, Mark, have 3 children, Ansley, Ben, and Charlee. Mark and Melinda make it a priority to model a healthy and active lifestyle for their children. When not at the studio, Melinda enjoys cheering for Clemson, boating on Lake Hartwell, and attending dance and sporting events for her children.
